Trelleborg is traditionally an industrial city, interested in investments and startups, as well as research companies. Environmental issues are also important for the city.
The city looks for exchange with the other ports of the Baltic Sea.

The municipality has just started a study on cooperation with cities in the Baltic Sea area. This is expected to be completed in May 2018.
Trelleborg can offer expertise in initiatives for youth, refugees integration, city planning, safety issues and entrepreneurship
